A port employee from Port Canaveral and a police officer joined forces to rescue two vacationing students riding watercraft when a cruise ship on the Carnival Cruise line was approaching dangerously close to the two women.

A cruise passenger caught the video rescue at the time Taner Primmer, a Brevard County police officer, took the women out of the water and pulled them on board the boat.

According to a statement from the Canaveral Pilots Association, Captain Doug Brown saw the two vacationers pulling out of port and alerted Primmer.

Several media outlets in the area identified the young women as Skylar Penpasuglia, 19, and Allison Garrett, 20, both of Princeton, West Virginia.
