Las Vegas Massacre

Las Vegas: 59 people died and 520 were injured due to gunshots and stampede caused by 22,000 concertgoers who had arrived to enjoy music on the last day of Route 91 Festival.

The local community held vigils in honor of the perished and the unknown tragedy that shook the Sin City to its core. 64-year-old, Stephen Paddock rained gunshots on masses from his luxury suite situated on the 32nd Floor of lavish Mandalay Bay Resort. The horror in Vegas stumped the tourists as well as the locals.

When the SWAT team broke down the door of the Hotel room, Paddock was laying on the floor. He had killed himself.

In recent updates, the Police has found 23 Firearms in his hotel room which includes rifles and automatic arsenal. His home in Mesquite was searched and the officials found 19 firearms, explosives and electronics that suggest he may have been planning it for quite a while.

What Do We Know So Far?

64-Year-Old Stephen was a resident of Mesquite, Nevada. He was a divorcee with no kids and had made millions investing in Real Estate all his life.

He was also a full-time poker player and was a frequent visitor in Las Vegas casinos. Paddock was the son of a notorious bank robber who was on the most wanted list of FBI after he ran away from 20 years imprisonment. He died in 1998.

Paddock owned 3 rental properties and had no links to religious groups. ISIS has taken responsibility for the attack. However, his brother Eric Paddock has stated otherwise.

He also stated how his mother was having a tough time coming to terms with the situation and they are “dumbfounded” at Stephen Paddock’s act.

“No religious affiliation. No political affiliation. He just hung out.”, he told an Associated Press

Police had investigated Paddock’s female companion Marilou Danley who was overseas when the shooting occurred. They had cleared her of any charges and maintain she knew nothing.

Why Did He Do This? The Question Looms Over

Police Authorities are investigating the heinous act and claim there is no proof of foreign or terrorist groups involved in this incident. So far, they have discovered the firearms, explosives and ammonium nitrate from the shooter’s car, home and hotel suite.

The community had gathered to help the injured persons and Las Vegas authorities have started a hotline number to help bereaved families know about their loved ones.

Meanwhile, people have gathered to donate blood and help in clearing the debris of the aftermath.
